Mission:

Shelby County Health Department Healthcare for the Homeless is designed to ensure access to comprehensive, quality, and equitable health care for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Shelby County.

Vision:

To improve health outcomes for those experiencing homelessness by creating accessible pathways to equitable healthcare.

What is Healthcare for the Homeless?

The Healthcare for the Homeless Program was established to assist organizations that currently provide resources to people experiencing homelessness. The program does this by helping people experiencing homelessness by identifying accessible pathways to organizations that help people out of unhoused situations.

What we do:

The goal of this program is to increase accessibility to healthcare for people experiencing homelessness. We do this by offering educational materials, locating the nearest shelters and mobile healthcare clinics, and providing vaccinations/sexual health resources such as HIV Testing and opioid overdose prevention at various shelters across Memphis and Shelby County.
