According to the EPA, exposure to ethylene oxide by inhalation increases the risk of leukemia and other blood cancers, lymphoma, and breast cancer in females. EPA considers elevated cancer risk to be greater than 100 in a million in the area around the Sterilization Services of Tennessee facility.
